Robin was doing well but Xrays show a leak from her stomach. She will have to have surgery today to repair it. All the usually concerns apply. Hopefully she will not be in so much pain when she comes out of surgery. Best case is that they decide to remove the G-tube entirely and use a nasal tube to drain and feed her directly to her stomach.
We got our first directed donation for plateletes. Scott S. was the donor. She is in constant need of platelets - in fact right now we are waiting for platelets to arrive so that they can start surgery. Try to stagger the donations because the platelates don't last long.

I am feeling a bit more encouraged about the platelet donation situation now that the first directed donation has made its way to Robin. Scott donated on Friday and Robin got his platelets today, a pretty fast turn around. Over this past weekend, my husband and I sent out a plea to a very large group of men from our parish as well as several other groups we know. We have had a number of people respond and tell us that they have appointments in the upcoming days. I have several other ideas for sources of donors as well. I will stagger some of these outreaches so that we can hopefully get donations in the upcoming weeks.
