They did a CAT scan over night because she was having stomach pain. They saw something in the spleen. The surgeon didn't see anything when he was in there, though. She was awake during the day but in pain so we told the nurse. I don't know if they upped the pain med or sedation. I hate to say it but her current day nurse has not been as attentive as the other nurses. I wrote the names of the drs, nurses and meds on the back of the red folder. If we take a note of which nurses we like we can request them. I've also started to keep some notes in the folder. Feel free to update them.

It appears to be so hard to donate the platelets for Robin that we may have given up on that. They seem to have enough so we can leave that on hold for now.

You are too kind about today's nurse. I couldn't get by Nurse Cratchet, but finally snuck in and said hello to Robin. She actually waved at me! Hopefully, tomorrow there will be a staff change! Jackie

Katelyn and I didn't get to make a trip to see Robin tonight. Katelyn has a couple of tests to study for tomorrow.

What was today's nurse name?

Is Robin's spleen o.k.? Or there was nothing? The rest agreed with the doctor upon his review that there was nothing alarming?

I was there this AM, and the nurse and Dr. both said they upped the pain meds when Kathi requested they do so. I hope so, because it seemed like she was in a lot of pain. She seemed very uncomfortable, but I felt she was alert... waving, writing on her tablet, and even rolling her eyes at us when I brought up some memories of college. She was trying very hard to communicate, dispite the tube in her mouth. She had lots of visitors in the short time I was there, you can certainly tell how much she is loved!

Kathi Thomas pointed out that Robin was experiencing bowel movement sounds 5/1/2007. Maybe this was the pain she was having yesterday? This is one more step on the way to recovery...

Also, Nurse Phyllis (Cratchet) should be tending to other patients other than Robin! Chris has said that we can make a nurse care request for Robin. Make sure she is crossed out.

Armando Martinez - a friend of mine and Robin's, works at Weustoff Hospital in Cocoa suggests filling out some forms against Nurse Cratchet... file a report with FHA and AHCA using some forms. I will have him send onto me and pass to Chris.

When visiting Robin, one of the nurses provided the following tip:

Ruel (Robin's first nurse that she had who was excellent) gave me a tip that we should all do for Robin. He said that for all ICU patients that are sedated like Robin and going in and out of consouisness, that every time Robin comes to, we should tell her what day it is and what time of day it is. He says that way they can orient themselves. To the person it is like they just closed their eyes and open them, when in actuality, it may have been hours or even days. So I thought I would pass this along.
